Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
Overview
DeadVault is a decentralized vault application and browser extension used to manage encrypted secret entries. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, why it is processed, and the choices available to users.
Data We Process
- User-provided secret entries (for example labels, categories, URLs, and encrypted secret values).
- Wallet information (for example wallet address and selected chain settings) needed to access and store vault data.
- Local extension/app settings (for example lock timeout and UI preferences) stored in browser local/session storage.
- Blockchain transaction data that becomes publicly visible on-chain when a user submits a transaction.
How Data Is Used
- To create, decrypt, and manage vault entries.
- To keep the extension session secure (for example auto-lock and activity timers).
- To generate and submit user-requested blockchain transactions.
- To provide core application functionality and reliability.
Encryption and Security
Secret values are encrypted client-side before storage operations. DeadVault is designed so users remain in control of their vault access credentials. No claim of absolute security is made; users are responsible for safe key management and operational security.
Data Sharing
DeadVault does not sell personal data. Data is only shared when technically required to provide the service, such as communication with blockchain RPC providers and public blockchain networks.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Users can delete local extension data by removing extension storage and uninstalling the extension.
- Users can remove or modify entries in their vault through the app/extension workflows.
- On-chain records are immutable and cannot be deleted once confirmed on the blockchain.
Third-Party Services
DeadVault may use third-party blockchain infrastructure endpoints (for example RPC providers) to read and write blockchain data. Their processing of request metadata is governed by their own policies.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
